Pictures

‘Pictures’ is the tale of Donna, a woman being interviewed by a police inspector, Matthew, at a hospital where she is caring for her sick son. As the film progresses we uncover the hidden world of Fabricated or Induced Illness (FII) where there are no winners, only losers.

The film, starring Andrea Corr (lead singer of ‘The Corrs’ and star of ‘The Bridge’) and Neil Pearson (‘Drop the Dead Donkey’, ‘Bridget Jones’, ‘All the Small Things’), is designed to educate viewers on the complex issue of FII, how it manifests itself and the potential reasons for its existence.

The film has so far screened in London’s West End, at the ‘Raindance International Film Festival’ and the ‘Encounters International Film Festival’.

It has also featured on BBC1’s ‘Panorama’ programme and has screened across Ireland on ‘RTE TWO’ and has secured international distribution with ‘Shorts International’.

The Thursday Film Initiative

Harnessing the success of ‘Pictures’, Thursday Film has brought together this group of child-care specialists, legal and criminal representatives, social care representatives and clinicians to update the UK on the latest information surrounding FII.

A website is currently under construction that will be the leading national source of information on the topic. It will also be a forum for films and documentaries educating people on this difficult issue.
